Irving garage door

What Happens After You Call

When you call, we ask a handful of questions before anything else: the age of the door if you know it, whether it's a single or double, what it's doing (won't open, makes noise, hangs crooked, opener runs but door doesn't move), and whether the springs are torsion (mounted horizontally above the door) or extension (stretched along the tracks). That's usually enough for a phone estimate on common jobs like spring replacement or a broken roller.

What we can't quote over the phone is anything that depends on seeing the hardware in person - a bent track, a section that's been hit by a car, an opener that's original to a house built in the 1970s or 80s and no longer has parts made for it. A lot of Irving's housing stock falls in that range; homes here run from 1959 through 2010, with the bulk built in the 1980s and 90s. Doors and openers from that era sometimes use hardware nobody stocks anymore, and that changes the number.

If the job needs eyes on it, we set up a time to come look before we lock in a price. We'd rather tell you a repair might run higher than guess low and surprise you at the door.

Contacting Us

Call 14697963156 or come by 5615 Highpoint Dr, Irving, TX 75038. If you're not sure whether your problem is a quick fix or a bigger job, call anyway - most people can't tell a stripped gear from a bad sensor, and that's fine, that's what the call is for.

We work throughout the Irving area and into the surrounding communities - Farmers Branch, Highland Park, University Park, Grand Prairie, Trophy Club, Richland Hills, Keller, Double Oak, Westlake, Highland Village, Haltom City, Hickory Creek, Copper Canyon, Lantana, Roanoke, Bartonville, Lake Dallas, and DeSoto. If your address falls somewhere in that stretch, mention it when you call so we can give you a realistic window instead of a vague one.

One honest note: we don't do same-day emergency dispatch for every call that comes in. If your door is a safety issue - off the track, spring snapped with the car trapped inside - say so up front and we'll move you up. Routine repairs get scheduled in the order they come in.

What We Actually Do

We work on residential garage doors and openers: broken torsion and extension springs, snapped cables, bent or off-track rollers, worn hinges, dented or cracked panels, opener repair and replacement, and full door replacement when a repair isn't worth the money anymore. We don't do commercial rolling steel doors or fire doors - if that's what you have, we'll say so instead of taking the job and guessing.

A quote is only as accurate as what we know going in. Photos help more than a phone description - a picture of the broken spring, the track where it's bent, or the panel that's cracked lets us narrow the price range before we're even on site. Door width and whether it's insulated or non-insulated also change the number, since panel and section costs vary by size and construction.

Given the age spread of homes in this area - some doors dating close to 1959, others from a 2010 build - the honest answer on any older unit is that we won't know the real cost until we've opened it up and checked the drums, the end bearing plates, and whether the track is still square. That's not us stalling; it's the difference between a $150 fix and a full replacement.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about garage door repair in Irving. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

How old does a garage door have to be before repair stops making sense?

It's less about age on paper and more about what's worn. A door built in the 1990s with one bad spring is a simple repair. The same door with a shot track, worn rollers, and a tired opener all at once usually isn't worth patching piece by piece - that's when replacement starts costing less over time.

Do you carry parts for older openers on the truck?

For common chain-drive units from the 80s and 90s, usually yes. Some opener boards and less common spring sizes aren't stock items and need a return trip once we've confirmed exactly what's needed. We'd rather tell you that upfront than guess and waste your afternoon.

Is a dented panel worth replacing on its own?

Often yes. If the track, springs, and rollers are otherwise sound, swapping the one damaged panel is a smaller job than replacing the whole door, and it's what we'll recommend unless the panel damage points to a bigger structural problem.
